Thank you, Chris, for sharing these thoughts and observations. I left the GOP between 2010 and 2012 because I began to see the party's direction and it scared the living daylights out of me. I began to vote Democratic to help shift the balance. It is my observation of the Democratic Party that they have the desire to be a big tent, but in trying to embrace everyone and everything, they fail to have a consistent message unlike the GOP with God, guns, family. and abortion.
The GOP has been playing Chess while the Democratic Party has been playing Tiddlywinks (may be a game analogy for lumping).
